Main hazards of high-pressure alarm

Compressor overload and damage: As the heart of central air conditioning, the compressor undertakes the key task of compressing low-pressure gaseous refrigerant into high-pressure gaseous state. When the system high-pressure alarm occurs frequently, it means that the compressor needs to continue to work at a pressure higher than the design standard. This will not only cause the compressor current to increase and the motor to overheat, but also accelerate the wear of internal mechanical parts, such as piston rings and bearings. In severe cases, it may cause motor burnout or mechanical failure, requiring high maintenance costs, or even the entire compressor unit needs to be replaced.

System component damage and accelerated aging: Under high pressure, the pressure on the pipes, valves, joints and other components in the refrigeration system exceeds the design limit. Long-term pressure will cause deformation of seals, fatigue and even rupture of pipes, which will not only cause refrigerant leakage, but also may pollute the surrounding environment and increase maintenance costs. In addition, high temperature and high pressure environment will accelerate the aging of rubber and plastic components and shorten the service life of the entire system.

Reduced energy efficiency and increased energy consumption: The air conditioning system is designed to work within a specific pressure range to achieve the best energy efficiency ratio. High-pressure alarm means that the system has deviated from this optimal state, and the cooling (heat) efficiency is significantly reduced. In order to maintain the set room temperature, the system has to consume more electricity, which directly leads to an increase in energy costs and violates the principle of energy conservation and emission reduction.

Causes of high-pressure failure of air-cooled units

Abnormal operation of the condenser fan: This will cause poor heat dissipation of the condenser, that is, the heat generated inside the refrigeration refrigerant cycle cannot be discharged through the fan, resulting in increased temperature and pressure.

Solution: Check and repair the fan, remove dust and debris around the fan cover, and clean it with compressed air or water gun after shutdown.

Condenser blockage: Condenser blockage will cause abnormal condensation of high-pressure refrigerant gas in the refrigerant system, causing a large amount of gas to condense and cause high-pressure failure.

Solution: Clean and decontaminate the condenser.

There is air in the system: This reason often occurs after the new machine or compressor maintenance, and air is mixed into the refrigeration system, causing the air to be unable to condense and remain in the condenser, causing the pressure to rise.

Solution: vent the air through the unit air separation valve, exhaust port or condenser.

Excessive refrigerant: Excessive refrigerant has a similar effect to the effect caused by entering the air. Too much refrigerant cannot be condensed into liquid, occupying too much condensation pipe area, reducing the condensation effect, and then the pressure rises.

Solution: Some refrigerant can be slowly released on the low-pressure side.

The expansion valve opening is too small: The expansion valve is used to throttle high-pressure liquid refrigerant into gas. If the opening is too small, the pressure of the front condenser will be too high.

Solution: Increase the opening of the expansion valve appropriately.

Causes and solutions for high-pressure failure of water-cooled units

The cooling water valve is not opened: If you do not open the cooling water valve when using a water-cooled air-conditioning unit, the cooling water cannot circulate to the condenser to cool down. The result is high temperature and high pressure in the condenser, and an alarm is sounded.

Abnormal operation of the cooling water pump: If the cooling water pump does not work, the cooling water cannot be transported to the condenser, the temperature cannot be lowered, and problems will naturally arise.

Abnormal operation of cooling tower fan: Cooling water is dissipated by cooling tower. If the fan stops working, the cooling water temperature cannot be lowered, and the internal pressure of the condenser naturally increases. It is necessary to check the operation of the water tower fan and deal with it properly.

Generally, the high-voltage alarm phenomenon of the air-conditioning unit is caused by the above reasons. In addition, the "false fault" of the high-voltage alarm may also be caused by the dampness of the high-voltage protection relay, the dampness or damage of the electronic board, and the poor wiring of the local electric control system. This is a false alarm caused by an electrical fault, which can be solved by repairing the responding electrical components.
